okay, so i have learned how to make images smaller ... here is one.

my sister dina is back!!!

she came back last night from alabama.  (stoopid americans keeping her away:) )

we had balloons, cake, gelato, and sushi ready for her when she came.  (then we made fries, pizza, and a greek potatoe and bean dish).  we all hid and then tried to scare the crap out of her.  it kinda worked ... but not really.

in any case, dina is leaving at 12:30pm on sunday for winnapeg.  she's trying out for the canadian women's national team!  not bad, eh ???  the first week she is going to do some kind of prepping, and then she has a two week tryout.  if she does well, she will stay another week.  and if she makes it, she may travel around the world for a year playing .... if she doesn't (shhhhhooooooooooosh -- she is AMAZING), she will be here until october when she will rewrite her OAT.

i wonder when she wil just stay here with us.  (stoopid americans).

this weekend is easter.  i am cleaning the upstairs and and not going to church.  i know that's bad, but am i a bad person?  i will be going saturday night though.

oh! and i will be starting school in buffalo on may 16th -- if i get my student visa on time.

this is my cousin, adonis.  isnt he cute?  he is my mom's nephew! i miss them all and i wanna go to greece to see them!  the last time i saw him we all went out all the time, and boys would talk to me and he would come and shoe them away! lol  i love my family.  i miss them.

well, i heep on checking nestor's stupid blog thingy to get a perspective on his life (and maybe mine), but the vlaka wont write anything. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrr.

i decided i would write something myself.

im going to go do my taxes today.  im also going to get a cd deck installed in johnny's car today. then, i have to go find either a 'lira' (old gold coin) or a gold gift for my cousin's daugther whom i will be baptizing!!! IM SO EXCITED!!! (we will see if we can visit her then ... she is three days old).

another thing im excited about is the house.  its pretty much done! the kitchen cabinets are coming tuesday, and then thats pretty much it after we close up the gaping hole in the floor.  we will move in upstairs.  THAT means you all can come visit in a semi-private space :)

uuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmm mm our friend stefano, his band (http://www.skyscraper-music.c...h -- go to 'artists' and then look for blood of christ - stef is the one on the far right ... not bad, eh!?!??! ) has some  cool gigs in the next little while ... im excited for him.  ive always wanted to be in a band.  i STILL want to be in nes' band. i do NOT want to dye my hair blond anymore.

oh and the BEST thing is my sister DINA will be coming home shortly.  i miss that bitch. :P

im so excited .. and i just can't hide it ...

anyways, i must shower my stinky little self and get ready for my day. 

well, a year has come and gone, and now were all looking to the wonders and joys of 2005!

the house is almost done.  all of the structural stuff is pretty much finished -- no more workers falling through our roofs and prancing throughout the house at 6 in the morning.  oh YAY!  i have been priming/painting the past two days. (if you notice many spelling mistakes, its probabaly due to the accumulated and dried paint in my eyes ... ) :)

i HaD to leave the house today though.  had to.  i went to the town centre and spent some money on my sister dina and my husband johnny.  (their bdays are both someing up on the 23rd!!!)  so far, i have for dina, a couple of shirts and some stuff from shoppers.  it's getting harder and harder to sop for her.  (we got her an mp3 player for x-mas -- so she can groove while she works out!)

then i came home and made "fakes" or lentil soup -- a greek staple.

this is what i did.

i rinsed 2 cups of lentil beans and boiled them for about 4 minutes.  then i drained them and set them aside. 

i heated 1.5 cups of olive oil, and added 1 sliced onion, 5 thinly sliced cloves of garlic and cooked them until they were translucent.  then i added a 14 ounce can of chopped tomatoes, 1 tbsp tomato paste and cooked it for a few minutes.  then i added a litre of water and two bay leaves ....

it's cooking on low now.  i just added some salt.  hope it's good.  i will let you know.  i will be serving it with some bread and feta cheese. 

maybe one day when nestor decides to visiy scarborough, i can make oldschool greek food for him, and my homies.

that's it for now.  i am going to work on my application for a teachers program in buffalo.  if i get in, i will start in may.  that means i either get my lisence, or learn what friggin buses can take me there.

i must say, it really SUCKS being done school.  

i am currently working for a cell phone company doing customer service, and the only things that are keeping me remotely interested (but not TOO interested) are the nutty people that call in, and my attempts at trying to get better at the job than those people that have been there for years ...

i've been on the phones since september -- 2 months.

in any case, i am working on teacher's college, and trying to find a better job that pays better

married life is good.  john made us a fettucini in a creme sauce, and a sausage payaya (sp) thingy --- was nummy .... i think he's turning out to be a better wife than i am :) ....

wow.

it came to me like a cool breeze on an autumn evening.  my username and password!!!!  yay mrs. dafos! :D  now i can get into this thing and dazzle y'all ...
